"God is good, a hiding place in tough times. He recognizes and welcomes anyone looking for help. No matter how desperate the trouble." (Nahum 1:7)
"Whatever happens, abide steadfast in a determination to cling simply to God."- Saint Francis de Sales
All people have to go through difficult times and in those times, we usually find some unexpected benefit out of it. Terrible things happen. We don't know why bad things happen to good and innocent people, but we are amazed at how they come out stronger from their problems. They inspire us by their bravery and strength of character. We are not alone going through the troubles. The truth is, everyone we know has to face challenging situations. When we go through our adversity, it will make us more humble, more aware of the pain of others. We have to accept what we cannot change and instead change our inner spirit, learning whatever there is to be learned. Choose to make sense and meaning out of the obstacles we face. Our inner resources are extraordinary. The strength is there. We have to draw upon our spirit by simply clinging to Jesus. Always look for the blessings in disguise.
Here's what a daughter has to say in response to her mother's letter - "I will never forget the letter my mother wrote to me with her signature green ink from her hospital bed several weeks before she died. Mother wrote, 'It is worth having cancer and dying in order to be this close to you, Sandie darling.'"
Life itself is a blessing. Take it as it is. We have nowhere to go, but to Jesus. Believe in Him that he can let the tempest pass in our lives. Everything will work out fine. We also need to stand with those who are in adversity and help them through their troubled times.
Jesus, You are always good. We pray for those with problems - accidents, financial breakdown, unemployment, poverty , hunger, mental tensions and stress. Let them be consoled, protected, and supported. All we ask in the name of Jesus.
